House Of Representatives Passes Bill Seeking Increase Of NYSC Member's Allowance/Salary

Nice one coming from the House of Rep ::: The House of Representatives, 14th January 2016 passed for third reading a Bill for an Act seeking to amend the National Youth Service Corps Act 2004 which will bring about an increment in the allowance earned by Corps members in the country. The Bill which also seeks to provide mandatory life insurance to Corps members was sponsored by Hon Joan Mrakpor, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from Delta State. It was unanimously adopted by members. Passage of the Bill would enable corps members who have acquired special business skill from the Service to have access to loan. Mrakpor, while calling on his colleagues to support the passage of the bill, said the essence of the Bill’s amendment was to ensure that the aim of the NYSC scheme was not defeated and it would reduce the number of graduates relying on white collar jobs in the country. Following its passage, the House referred the Bill to the adhoc committee on constitution review for further legislative input.

This Poor Professor Who Says Christian And Muslim Worship The Same God Gets Fired

The poor Christian lady had no idea some angry Christians don't want to share the same God with Muslims, funny ::: Officials at a Chicago Christian college said Tuesday they are moving forward with firing a professor who was placed on leave after asserting that Christians and Muslims worship the same God. Provost Stanton Jones initiated the termination-for-cause proceeding after Larycia Hawkins refused to participate in clarifying the comments she made about the two religions, Wheaton College said in a statement on its website. Wheaton College said it placed Hawkins on administrative leave in December because of theological statements "that seem inconsistent with Wheaton College's doctrinal convictions, which she voluntarily agreed to support and uphold when she entered into an employment agreement with the college." Hawkins began to wear a hijab to show solidarity with Muslims, whom she felt were being persecuted in the wake of the San Bernardino shooting and the terror attacks in Paris perpetuated by Muslim extremists. She told reporters last month her actions were “motivated by a desire to live out my faith”. “I stand in religious solidarity with Muslims because they, like me, a Christian, are people of the book,” she posted on Facebook. “And as Pope Francis stated last week, we worship the same God”.

This Mother Was Jailed For Beating Her Son With A BELT Over Bad School Grades

Her name is Sarah Dennis and she is the Florida mother facing child abuse charges after she allegedly beat her son for his failing grades, leaving him with a black eye, NBC Miami reports ::: Has reported:, the boy told police his mother made him strip down to his underwear, then proceeded to beat him with a belt on his back and buttocks. He said he fell to the floor because of the pain. Dennis, 25, continued to beat the boy with a belt, then punched him several times in the left eye with a closed fist, police say. The boy also told police that he and his mother were the only ones in the room at the house. Dennis denied ever hitting her son and told police her 12-year-old got the black eye during a school fight.

How 300 Level 1st Class Student Of UNILAG Was Electrocuted To Death

Oluchi had no idea she will be electrocuted to death ::: Oluchi Anekwe was a 300 level student of the Department of Accounting at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and was a first class scholar in her department until her death from an high voltage cable. Miss Oluchi was returning from church service and was walking along the “New Hall” bus stop in front of Sodeinde Hall of residence when a high voltage cable snapped off the pole and killed her. She died almost immediately. Students of the institution today shut down academic activities on the campus in protest against what they considered negligence on the part of the university authorities. Oluchi is from Aku town in Igbo Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria. May her soul rest in peace.

No other author rocks Africa when it comes to books like Wole Soyinka :::  A Nigerian playwright and poet, awarded the 1986 Nobel Prize in Literature, the first African to be honored in that category. Soyinka was born into a Yoruba family in Abeokuta. After study in Nigeria and the UK, he worked with the Royal Court Theatre in London. He went on to write plays that were produced in both countries, in theatres and on radio.
